Overview of Contacts
Contacts in Autofunnel is the first major step toward building a fully functional CRM within your account. All of your leads and customers appear in one place—no matter how you gathered their information.
- Unified Repository: Whether through funnels, pages, or manual import, your contacts reside here.
- Automatic Tagging: Autofunnel tags new contacts as “Lead” or “Customer” when they opt in or purchase.
- Detailed History: Each contact stores a record of how they joined your list and which products they’ve purchased.
NOTE: YOU CAN STORE UNLIMITED CONTACTS IN YOUR AUTOFUNNEL ACCOUNT.
Viewing Contact Details
In your Contacts dashboard, you’ll see a table listing all known information:
- Name
- Phone Number
- Country
- Lifecycle Stage (Lead or Customer)
- Tags
-
Nick – Tagged as a Lead, phone number visible, email at
dudesandbros.com. -
Trey Smith – Tagged as a Customer with email at
brosanddudes.com.
Scroll to the right to see extra data like the Lifecycle Stage (e.g., Lead or Customer).
Adding and Tagging Contacts
You can add new contacts or modify existing ones in a couple of ways:
1. Using the “Add Contact” Button
- Manual Entry: Fill in details like Name, Email, Phone, etc.
- CSV Import: Covered in the next section.
2. Applying Tags
- Add a New Tag: For instance, to tag both Nick and Trey as U.S. Based, simply type “U.S. based” in the tag field and hit +.
- Assign Existing Tags: Once created, the tag can be applied to any other contact with a single click.
TIP: AUTOMATIC TAGGING OCCURS IF CONTACTS ENTER THROUGH YOUR FUNNELS OR PAGES. FOR EXAMPLE, “LEAD” FOR OPT-INS AND “CUSTOMER” FOR PURCHASERS.
Importing and Exporting Contacts
Importing with a CSV
- Go to the top-right corner.
- Click Import.
- Follow the instructions to map your CSV columns (Name, Email, etc.).
- Confirm to add them to your list.
Exporting Contacts
- Three-Dot Menu (⋮) > Download CSV
- Export all contacts or selected contacts.
- Use this feature to back up your data or to migrate contact information elsewhere.
Searching and Filtering
The search bar at the top allows you to filter contacts by:
- Name (e.g., “Smith”)
- Email (e.g., “@gmail.com”)
- Tag (e.g., “US-based”)
This feature is especially useful when you have a large database and need to isolate specific subsets of contacts.
Creating Smart Lists
Smart Lists let you save a set of criteria to quickly re-filter your contacts at any time.
- Click on “All Contacts” in the top navigation.
- Select Create Smart List.
-
Define Your Filters: For example,
- Include Tag: “Lead”
- Exclude Tag: “Customer”
- Name Your Smart List (e.g., “Leads Only”) and save it.
Whenever you click on Leads Only, Autofunnel will display only those contacts who match your criteria—no need to redo your filter every time.
NOTE: SMART LISTS ARE DYNAMIC. IF A CONTACT’S TAGS CHANGE, THEY MAY AUTOMATICALLY ENTER OR EXIT A SMART LIST.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: How many contacts can I have in Autofunnel?
A1: There’s no limit. Store as many as you like!

A2: A Tag is a label you assign to contacts (e.g., “Customer”), while a Smart List is a saved filter that can dynamically include or exclude tags.
Q3: Can I import my existing list from other platforms?
